Heads will roll!

Since it’s Thursday I think it’s time for a throwback. Sleepy Hollow from 1999 directed by Tim Burton is Set in 1799, "Sleepy Hollow" is based on Washington Irving's classic tale "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow." Faithful to the dreamy custom-bound world that Irving paints in his story, the film mixes horror, fantasy and romance and features an extraordinary cast of characters that dabble in the supernatural. This movie is personally one of my all time favorites, it’s a classic that still keeps me on the edge of my seat. Although it is not the most terrifying horror movies it keeps an audience captivated throughout its entirety.
We follow a city doctor who has been summoned to the small town of Sleepy Hollow to help discover the killer that is haunting the town. I say haunting instead of tormenting because this killer is from beyond the grave. This killer is ruthless and will kill whoever tries to mess with him. This doctor, Ichabod Crane, does not realize what he is in for. Like most people, he does not believe in the legend that people say has this town captured. He is just there to investigate the decapitation of three town’s people. Johnny Depp (Ichabod) is the perfect actor for this role, he has the best expressions to perfectly capture the emotions his character is feeling.
This movie, by some people, is described as a slasher movie but that is the wrong title for this film. Most slasher movies are filled with blood and guts and a killer with no real motive. This movie does have blood, no guts, and the killer has the perfect motive. What is it? Watch this movie and find out.

Some critics from https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/sleepy_hollow/ aka the rotten tomatoes website really discredit a film that was very well made. One critic from Common Source Media stated, “There are lots of slasher movies better than this”. She must not have watched the right movie because in no way was this a slasher movie, and it was better than any “slasher movie” I have seen. But like I said you can’t really compare them because this isn’t a slasher movie. Slasher movies don’t really have true plots. Sleepy Hollow has a love story, a captivating mystery, the perfect amount of gore, and ghouls that will remain in your nightmares. So, even though heads will be rolling during this movie no eyes will.
